Is there a way to remove the uptick on Euro smileys light beam pattern?

    Hey all,

So i have a set of Euro Bosch Smileys in my E30 and currently the beam pattern has a uptick to the left on both low beams that blinds other drivers. I was wondering if it is possible to correct this so it no longer has a uptick or if im just screwed and have to get another set of smileys with the correct pattern?

Here is a pic of the beam pattern. I tried my best to aim the beams down to better help against blinding drivers. Its a daytime pic but you can still see what im talking about. Thanks for any info.

No, but you can rotate the housing counter clockwise to correct the beam.

      This.

They rotate for LHD and RHD. You are currently in RHD mode.

After rotating, you can cut the shield (or make a custom one) to get a correct cutoff, as opposed to an annoying ECE one.

I think the cutoff is fine once it's rotated. The higher cutoff on the right helps to illuminate signs and the edge of the road on the right without hitting oncoming drivers.

It depends - if you want to aim the lights at ECE spec, it's great. But that pretty much just puts the light on the ground five feet in front of you. (I'm exaggerating, but not as much as you would think.). Otherwise, you're essentially high beaming everyone to your passenger side.

I suppose that's true. I've set it so the cutoff is at the top of the taillights on a leading car at ~50 feet. It allows plenty of room for the low beams to work without blinding people in the oncoming lane. Besides, my high beams are more than sufficient for seeing ahead, and if I can't use them it means there are additional sources of light anyway. I don't drive on highways as much as two-lane roads, so there aren't many people on my right to blind with the uptick.
