    Euro light height adjuster install?

Does anyone know if the euro light adjuster can be installed in US cars?

That switch on the bottom left there
I just got some HIDs for my Hella H1 Black lights, and Id like to be able to adjust the height from the cabin

I thought I read a conversion article on it once, but I cant find it.

I think it's possible, in fact you have Euro ellips and the Euro frames

        btw:
Not all Euro cars have the height adjuster
it was standard on German cars

That's a start, but has anyone seen a retrofit article?
I assume Im not the first one who wants to do this.

It's a sealed system and you can't take it apart. What I suggest is making it electrical using the resat switch and the frames that came on most 320i. I sold a few sets this winter that had them.

I have contemplated the idea myself. So to answer your question I believe the answer is no you can not retro fit it.

spoke to a few guys on s14.net
Most from Europe and Scotland. They told me it is possible, but its a MAJOR PITA...
most have removed them due to system malfunction.

It will work on the early cars too. It just wasn't available at the time for early cars.

Not worth the money. If you are interested Doing it electrically is the way to go. Use the bezel from the inside easily found at yards and wire it up with hardware from "You do it" electronics in Needham or Radio Shack parts.

Could be done for under $100 withjust a liitle thought put into it.

As far as the system goes my old 320i had it and they all seem to freeze up. So don't bother with old system.

I would definately go with greg on this one. People were constantly bitching on BEN about the pneumatic system never working and leaking a week after getting it fixed. At least eletrically the only weak points are the switch and motor.

This would be super pimp but I dont think its worth it. My headlights work fine as they are adjusted, maybe if I won the lottery.
                      Im now E30less.

i have never in my life seen an e30 that actually had this system in working order. mine just sits there and does nothing but look cool for when u guy see it ... waste of effort IMO ... if you want the look, just install the facia/knob.

I wouldn't buy the system because it's shit. The whole system is hydraulic and when one hose is leaky that you can throw everything away. If you are only interested in the optic then buy the cover under the steering wheel + adjuster without the hoses.

If you want a working system then buy the adjusters at the headlight brackets from the e34 because they are electronic.

I told you so 8) I done one to many removals of the pos systems. Electric is far superior. It's called a multimeter and they aren't that scary.
