Clear turn signal lenses for diving boards

I remember reading somewhere, or someone telling me a while back that the lenses used on the E30 M3 turn signals are the same ones used on the diving boards, is that correct? I'm looking to get a set of either smoked or clear lenses soon, and just looking around to find the best prices on them.
