    early model tail light wiring...

Recently some wiring in my 87 325i went wrong and now my right side tail light, front marker light and all my dash lights stopped working.. I can deal with the dash lights, and the front side marker for now but I got a repair order for the tail light and no idea of how actually fix it.

So what I'm lookin to do is figure out which wire connecting to the tail is meant for just the tail light so I can run a wire over to the passenger just to make it work. Any suggestions?

    Sounds like a Fuse problem.

Normal BMW wiring is left side tail + front marker on one fuse, right side tail, license plate, side markers, instruments on next fuse.

I'd go to the fuse directory, look for 'tail light rt', and /or with a volt meter, check for volts with light switch to first click at the proper fuse ends. Normally you take out the fuse, bend the fuse tabs inwards, replace the fuse, and >>TIP<< once the fuse is in, rotate it a few turns to settle it into the contacts, better connection that way.

Let us know if that fixes it.

Ockagem's theorem, the most obvious solution is usually correct. The clue was right side park lights + license plate + instruments.
