Turn Signal and Side marker issues

I've been working on putting my track car together for the better part of the last year.
Previous owner cut up some of the harnesses to save weight.

I had to get a turning signal stalk (missing) and plug in the front bumper turn signals and side markers.

End result: the low/high beams and rear lights work as they are supposed to.
The turn signals do not function (though high beam function on the stalk functions).

Strangely when the lights are on, the front turn signals light up instead of the small side markers.
I'm missing the hazard switch as well. Could that be part of the problem as well?

Does anyone have any suggestions of what may be the cause for my issue?

Can someone tell me what the white plug (hanging from the turn signal stalk) used for?

You need the hazard switch installed for the indicators to work.

        I was afraid of that.
I think the harness that goes to the center console is gone. PO pretty much took out everything that wasnt necessary.
Is there a way to bypass the hazard switch?

Whould that also explain why the front turn signals light up when the marker or headlights lights are turned on?

Here are the stock wiring diagrams:

The front lights are supposed to come on with the headlights. They use dual filament bulbs. The side markers not coming on might just be bad bulbs.

That relay looks like it might be the ABS relay, but it is hard to tell from the picture. Look the wire colors up in the wiring diagram.

Thank you for clarifying the side marker issue. I'll look into the bulbs as well.

That is the turn signal relay. What I am wondering about is the little wire sticking out to the side of it (it has a white plug on it) that is supposed to plug into something just under the steering wheel but I cant think of what it could be for.

In any case, I'll dig through the diagrams in hope of sorting out the turning signals so that the car would be more street worthy.

                Thank you!
I have no horn so I couldn't see where the wire would go.
I guess I now have to get a hazard switch and it's wiring to get the rest of the system running

                  I figured it out.
My harness was cut up pretty badly compliments of the previous owner.
I was able to connect the red/white and green/purple and turning signal is back in business.
