    9006 HID vs h1 HID

Is there a big difference in light output if I put HIDs in my 9006 housings vs say euro smiley H1 housings?

Right now I'm running 9005 bulbs in the 9006 housings, thinking of picking up one of those prolumen kits for the US Ellipsoids.

None at all, really. In fact the US ellips have a flat cutoff, which is better for HIDs.

before you go hids, you might wanna try a 9011 HIR bulb in your low beams... they put out a ton of light... you can check daniel stern lighting

Cibie, Hella, Marchal, Carello stockists. E-code headlamps, fog lamps, driving lamps, bulbs, and full technical support and assistance

the 9011 isn't as bright as an HID, but it's *really* bright...

the bulb holder/base will need to be shaved to fit it in a 9006 fixture, but it takes like... 2 min with a dremel

http://rallylights.com has them in the US.

I'm just going to go with the HID as those bulbs are already $60.

Have people installed prolumen kits into their 9006 housings successfully?
