    headlamp mounting screw size?

What size are the philip's head mounting screws? I can't seem to find them on realoem. Lost two from an accident.

    Screw?

Do you mean the tiny ones that hold the trim ring retaining the light in the bucket, or the MONDO ones that hold the bucket to the car? Both are Phillips head. The picture is from a six series, same vintage as an E30.

From what I see, it's not a machine screw, it's a 'sheet metal' thread that catches one turn only in a single thickness of the sheet metal or panel nut. You can pick them up at any parts yard. Try MB, Audi, VW, etc. if no BMWs.

Let me know if you need me to mail you a couple. I visit the yards fairly frequently and find these in my pocket when I get home - no idea how they get there, but maybe I can help.

Sorry about the wreck, hope you survived without injuries, or too much of a loss.

I meant the big ones. I measured it and it appears to be 6mmx20mm or so. I wound up getting a 5mm bolt and some washers and used that instead becuase all the m6's at home depot had fine rather than coarse threads.

Accident was 4 years ago, just getting the car back on the road now. Thanks for the help!
