    Convertible dome LED issues

After visiting multiple auto part stores looking for the 61111 bulb for my dome light I resulted in ordering some led lights off of ebay. They're a direct fit for 61111 but don't work. Does anybody have an led dome light in their convertible?

Did you try rotating the light 180 degrees and reinstalling?

Well that is the only thing I could think of unless the new light is just bad.

Hmm... I'm going to have to see if I'm getting a good connection. I noticed on the factory bulb the contact is slanted as the led is rounded.

You won't find the incandescent except online. About $9 as I recall. Highway robbery. The LEDs have + and - wired backwards and will not work. You can't easily just rewire the light, because it has two "on" positions, with a different ground for each. One of those is switched by the door switch, the other is not switched. So you'd have to provide a constant hot for one position, and a switched hot from the door switch. OR you'd have to fabricate a new holder that reverses the polarity but still fits in the dome.

Makes the $9 seem worth it.
