    Ellipsoid Rebuild Help

    Hi all.

I need some tips on reassembling my ellipsoids. I've already broke a $3 black bushing.

Do you put the black bushings on the adjuster screw first or in their mounting spot first?

I put them in their mounting spot first and then had to force them onto the screw. Of course the amount of force needed to get the screw into the bushing broke the bushing. so 2 out 3.

There must be an easier way.

    Any tips?

    thanks

so I figured out that you need to use lube to get them to pop in much easier. I used dish soap.

one question. what do you use to lube the adjusters? Silicon, lithium?

I just used some Lucas thick and tacky lube. Just a dab. I've also put them in with no lube.

You can use regular old bearing grease, too. Bonus is it's pretty water-resistant and long-lasting. I'd recommend putting some on the adjuster threads too to keep them from corroding.
