Sylvanias silverstars which are for the US Elip.
Another option as E34john has mentioned,9005 conversion is another option. I think E34 and E30 Elips are the same, but maybe someone can confirm this.-Frank

I've done the Sylvania Silverstar 9005 conversion into US ellips, and I was pleased with the result. Basically, it simply allows you to put a high beam bulb in your low beam socket. No write up is needed as the conversion is very simply. On the inside of the bulb socket, there is a groove and a lip which allow only the right bulb to be used, ie a high watt or low watt. Simply grind the raised lip flat, and you can put either high or low beam bulbs in the socket. An extremely simple, 10 minute job.
IMO, this is the quickest, cheapest, and most effective light upgrade. Anything more and you start to look at spending much more $$$$.

Honestly, I like the Sylvania Cool-Blues that are sold at autoparts stores. They are DOT bulbs with a slight blue tint dye in the glass, not painted blue. The tint is so slight that it just gives the output a whiter look but not the annoying, dim ricer look. The Sylvania Silverstars are ok too, but they cost twice as much.sigpic

Go the the very bottom of the pages linked to above and read about the bulbs. I hear (from a review in the Roundel last year) that these claims are actually very true and you will get more output from the bulbs.
Now, of course, you can still use the 9005 type (9011) in the 9006 housing for the added 10 watts, plus the extra output from the bulb design with extra modification. Obviously, you pay for these.
Even if you don't go with the above recommendation, I would stay away from bulbs with the tinted glass (sylvania silverstars). You can buy normal 9005 or 9006 bulbs from www.rallylights.com that have Xenon infused gasses without tinted bulbs (meaning more output over normal halogen, without the lose -- just like Osram Silverstars). The tint will reduce the light output in exchange for the shift in the spectrum (a filter essentially keeps all colors but the one that is being throw out from exiting, thus reducing the total output).
