Self leveling HID drop-ins for 5006

Do self leveling HID drop-ins for 5006 bulbs exist? I'm sure they would be expensive but also fantastic.

Do you mean H5006 (sealed-beams) or 9006 (for US ellipsoid projectors)?

Self-leveling systems use motors on the entire housing, not just the bulb. If you move the bulb within the housing you would only change the intensity over certain spots in the pattern. By moving the entire housing you can re-direct the light where you want it.

I do know the e30 in europe had a hydraulic leveling system that could be adjusted from the driver seat, just below the light switch. But I am not sure the details on retro-fitting this into US cars.

That said, I just finished a Morimoto Mini H1 projector swap in my car, and while self-leveling would be cool, I don't know that it is at all necessary when you have a modern projector with a good clean cut-off. Here is a photo from nrubenstein from here on the forums with the Morimoto set-up:

Have a link to a howto on that retrofit? It looks great.

I am working on a guide for the retrofit, it is very close to done, but I won't have a chance to finish it for a couple of weeks (it is missing good night time photos of the finished product and driving impressions) - http://nwbmwforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=16781

The Morimoto Mini H1 is a bi-xenon projector, meaning enabling the high-beams actually changes the lighting pattern of the Mini H1 projector. This is done through an electrically activated shield that cuts off the light in a sharp line when in low beam mode, but flips out of the way when the high beams are enabled.
Here is the Mini H1 in low beam mode on the left, and high beam mode in the middle, and together with the actual high beams on the right:

        And all-together:

Once I am done I will copy it to a thread here on r3v.

        Dinanm3atl here on r3v sells a whole pre-assembled kit - http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=340586

and glucklich21 sells the necessary adapter for the Morimoto Mini H1 projector if you decide you want to DIY - http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=321623
