Are there any new ones left? I got a quote from my local dealer for US ellipsoid headlights, for 1987-89 only, for $650 for both left and right assemblies but I like the smiley design better. My dealer says they are prohibited from ordering the euro only lights.

I don't really want to deal with used. I know there are knockoffs on eBay for less than $200, maybe I should get those.

Unless you have a Euro VIN to give them, they won't sell you Euro parts anymore.

Used is a crap shoot. A lot of them will look great on the outside, but have faded/foggy reflectors that don't work well. One alternative is buy used and install HID projectors into them using Squared Motorwerks adapters:

The ones on eBay (Depo brand) used to be terrible, but are actually pretty decent now a days. They aren't as nice as OE Hella or Bosch, but for the money are decent and will outperform old, worn out lights.
