    M3 Headlights

I just bought some E30 M3 headlights off of Ebay for my 325 and I was jsut making sure that they will fit onto my 325. I figured they would, but I don't think they are Ellipsoids. Can anyone give me some good info. Thanks

all e30s including the M3 headlights are interchangable. now the question is this

did you have sealed beam light and now bought ellipses or the other way around?

As far as the actually headlight assembly goes they are both the same, you can swap the units no problem. hope that explains your question... from what I understand you bought non ellipsoid lights, if thats the case, WHY? ellipsoid headlights are considered an upgrade because they put out more light than the older sealed beam headlights. like I said hope this helps.

this crossed my mind today, and since i just read this thread i figured i'd share.... if us ellips really are better than sealed... then why did bmw go back to sealed in the 90's from the ellips in '89????

I was wondering the same thing. My sisters '91 318i has sealed, and my '88 has ellips. It doesn't make sense. Unless they tried to cut costs. The sealed beams are no doubt much cheaper

I thought it had somthign to do with the airbags. After spending money on them they had to cut back.
