    ellipsoid smoking

I just purchased a set of ellipsoids and I really want them smoked. Ive read the DIY and decided that i would rather not DImyS.

Is there anyone who would be willing to smoke them for me? Obviously I would pay them for their time and making it look better then i could.

p.s. I dont know if this in the right area, feel free to move it Mods (even though you'd move it if i didnt say that...)

If you mess up, just take it off with acetone. I used "annodized look" paint to do mine, looked good, when i decided i didn't want it anymore, off it came with no problem. Comes off as a film before it dries completely as well if you decide sooner than about 10 minutes if you don't like it.

I'm not sure they have grey/black, i used yellow.

Easy to make look good though man, follow the directions on distance to hold and spray very thin until you get the look you want.

Its easy to smoke them , but just time consuming. This is what you need:

      Dremmel with disk cutter
      Permatex- clear RTV SILICONE
High temperature semi gloss black paint
      Crosshair pattern for cut outs
      Sheet of tin metal
      tin shears
      black Sharpe marker
And a shit load of time and patience!

      Here's a set I just made:

heres the pattern: you trace then dremmel it into shape-

I suppose the best way to smoke them would be to crush them up into tiny pieces with a hammer to ensure that they easily fit into your pipe.

sure looks like one of the sets I made. I wouldnt use RTV/permatex. It wont hold a good seal on the glass very long. You need to use a windshield glue.-4 glass. You need to be very careful, and probably have an extra lens or 2 around if its the first time your trying it.
isnt there another are on this forum for this topic anyway.
