    New idea for ellipsoids...

    I had a spare ellip in my closet, so I did something to it I haven't seen done before:

    I have always liked the '3D' effect projectors that some non-angel eyes e39s have (I don't know if these are euro-spec only or not), so I decided to see how difficult it would be to remove the chrome 'donut' from the e30 projector lens.

    Very easy, it broke to pieces and fell out without any peices remaining. Apparently it wasn't stuck with glue.

    The final result is a 'translucent' projector, which I think is quite original and nice-looking. I don't have it on the car now, but I can't wait to see what it'll look like turned on!

          Sorry for the size of the pics, but I wanted y'all to get as clear a picture as possible. I'll have a set mounted on the car within the next few days (using my HID's) so you guys can see what that'll look like.

              looks cool, want to see what the result is though. im sure there is a reason what was broken off was there in the first place.

                                      No but the smiley directs the light output and WAS there for a reason. If you wanted non-smileys, you can buy them that way. ? Not sure what you're going for here.

                                          YEA DUDE!! I DID THE SAME SHIT and i was like SWEEEEEETTTTT MOTHA FUCKAAA i hardwired my HIDs and ballast onto the headlights and hooked it up to a battery and it look pretty fackin awesome. it was sorta smoked, sorta not, and it was just orignal. I put the reflectors back in because they are worth more smoked....but im planning on doing this setup with my US ellips when i get around to buying another set of HIDs.....

                                              I didn't block off anything. In fact I removed the whole 'donut' thing right behind the glass. Hope that clarifies things...
