Philips HID 9006 kit for US ellips?

Can i put this into my US ellips for the low beams?

friend is selling a setup from his jeep for cheap. only $160.

sure, as long as the bulb is rebased to the 9006 bulb (which i am asuming it is since it is a "kit"), then it should just pretty much be plug and play. you could do some splicing with the connectors to make it appear stock and you will be happy. BUT, but the US ellips's will have a bad "hotspot" when compared to the E-codes.

I dunno, I've seen HIDs in US ellips...they are the best of the E30 light assemblies for HIDs, in my opinion. Perfectly flat cutoff, and I didn't notice any hotspot.

FWIW, our local E30 group has almost every imaginable HID setup:
          - Early Euro H1 (non-ellips)
          - Euro ellips
          - US ellips
          - US ellips with E46 projectors
          - Hella H4

...and yeah, the US ones (not counting the projectors) are the best IMO.
