Bad rep of Sylvannia Silverstars : shamefull

I can now officially add that buying these can be a major GAMBLE.

I bought a pair at Western Auto/ Advance Auto Parts (in PR they didnt change the name yet) for $26. Shortly after picking them up I read somewhere on here that they may have longevity issues comparing to the real-deal Osram Silverstars.

The 1st one blew 2 weekends ago and I just put in a Phillips standard one cause I was in hurry to leave. I thought well let me keep the remaining Silverstar in to see how it would hold up; besides the 2 colour temperatures combined nicely:D .

This set lasted from August till now. Well the "stronger one" did.

blah blah - end of rant.

I bought Osram 9005's for my low beams, no silverstar crap for me. cost me like $18 shipped from some foreign country to the US. I guess i could have tried the Osram silverstars, oh well.

I've got 9006 sylvania silverstars as my low beams and they've been working great for about 6 months.

I just put a set of euro ellips and HIDs in my eta DD and osram silverstar highs...what a disapointment...they are YELLOW and not much brighter than my 6000k HIDs..

Sylvania Silverstars suck. Osram Silverstars don't.

I'd like to see this kit, but I disagree that buying the right bulbs is stupid.
I haven't seen a HID kit that is much more than anything other than appearance. And headlights are something I take seriously...not just for my own safety but the safety of oncoming drivers.

my osram silverstars aren't any different than the sylvania silverstars from what I can see between my two cars.
                            neither look yellow.
yeah, I could have saved about 10 bucks if I had ordered them from Germany, but both bulbs went out.
they're definately better and brighter than the $7 sylvanias.
