The e30 325i Head Light Circuit - How does it function - Lights worked... Now stopped

I just purchased a 1989 325i. The lights just stopped working. Corners are on, the tail lights are on(1 is blown) but they are on.

It was this morning so I don't know if the interior lights were on or not.

Both bulbs blew at the same time?

I figured it out.

It is like me e36. If you are not in position 2 or run then the headlights turn off. I was thinking that on the older car they would just stay on
