HID Retrofit: US Ellips or Bosch Smiley?

I just bought this HID kit from a group buy over on E30tech.com:

I have a set of US Ellipsoids and a set of Bosch Euro Smilies. Which set should I do the HID retrofit too and why? I am leaning toward doing the Smilies. What do you guys think?

The Euros have a Much better light distribution. But you need different bulbs either 9006 for US or H1 for Euros.

It depends which kit you bought. If you bought an H1 HID kit, you need to use the euro ellips. If you bought a 9006 kit, you need to use the US ellips...
      They are not interchangeable.

Brain Fart, I didn't even think about that. It looks like I'm retrofitting the smilies since I got the H1 kit.

Other than smiley, the cut-off is slightly different, euro's flare up towards the right which can be a little blinding to ppl on the right in front of you.
But it also provides more light output.
          Euro: __/ __/

Where as the US ellips, have a flatter cutoff

          US Spec: (slight step up)
          __--- __---

Other than that, light dispersion is the same. (They both suck compared to hid projectors, which project the light much wider)

I have US spec, with modified cut-offs.....haha and chrome tape enhancing projectors.
