    Lights

Hows it going. I recently saw some posts about smoked lights as well as french yellow fogs. I was wondering if the french fogs will fit in the 91 stock bumper and if so where can i find them.

questions regarding the smoked front lights are where can i find them, and are they bright? how bright compared to euro smilieys and ellipsoids? where can i find the rear smoked lights for 87' e30?

    Thank you in advance.

You can find the rears from Ebay (Startec or MHW, I have a set of MHW's). For the front smoked lights, I think there is a group buy going on right now.

the french fogs are very hard to find.....I waited months for Nico to find me a nice set. But I did hear that www.bmaparts.com sells them for like $250. Yes they do fit your 91. As for the smoked lights, the headlights aren't really smoked.....it's just the inside plastic of the light is black giving it a dark appearance. The glass is still clear. I bought my smoked lights in the Abrahams Motorsport group buy.

check the fourm for group buys and see if Mike can stil get you some headlights. He mentioned that he might have an extra set or two from the buy so you might be able to get them for a reasonable price, reasonable being $100 less than the only other reliable source.

Thanks for the info guys, I'll go look now.
Concerning the smoked lighjts- are they bright at all, or just like the stock lights except "smoked."

The actual lens isn't smoked. It's an 'optical illusion' if you will. They just look smoked. On the low beam, the area surrounding the projector lens is smoked, and the highbeams have some plastic inside them to make them look smoked. That's the simplest way I could explain it. Thus, the smoked lights are just as bright as the non-smoked ones.

I understand the smoked part, I just wanted to know if they were bright.
You say non-smoked ones, are you referring to stock lights? or ellipsoids?

There is no difference in output bewteen the white ones and the black ones in the low beams. There may be a marginal difference in the high beam output.

The light SOURCE is what is going to get you that color temp and there is only one way to get bright light at that color, HID. Those tinted halogen bulbs will give you fake looking color and little light output.

Here is the smokes with HID, the lights below are my halogen foglights with Sylvanias in them:
