Euro or U.S.?

I have smiley ellipsoid H1 headlights on my 1990 325is. How do I tell if they are Euro or U.S.? I've seen ellipsoids that don't have the smiley, is that the difference?

Euro ellips have the city light in the smiley and non smiley lights. And all euro ellips are H1's. And the US lights only have the ellips in them and no city light. Plus the cut off is different between them, __/__/&\__\__=euro.. ___ ___=US the US cutoffs has a sight bend to them.

Well just the fact thay they have the smiley lets you know they are Euro lights as uS never got the smiley .

Also US ellips used 9005 & 9006 bulbs .
