    independant fogs

everything with my fuse/relay matched up with what was on the article on BEN. but it did not werk. I connected pin 87 and 30, put the fuse/relay back in and my headlights came on. (without the key in the ignition). I then tried connecting 87 to the pin on the opposite side. i think 85. put the fuse/relay back in, put the key into acc, and the the fuse/relay buzzed. everything werked normally tho. just a loud buzz.
anyone here complete this mod? why isnt mine? the fuse location and pin location is just as described in the tech article. my car is a '90.
    TIA

This mod needs to be done different for every model E30. The article on BEN only works on some cars.

If you want to get it to work, you'll need to do it like Nick Majka: http://www.mmsport.s5.com/foglights.html

I have a writeup for how to do it to 88/89 cars, but my writeup will ONLY work with US ellipsoid cars.

yeah, i tried to wire my 88 like my frends 89 and i got a wierd reaction. when i did the 87 to 30 connection i was able to turn on the fog lights with the key out of the ignition, but only at the second click on the switch...BUST...so then i decided to take out my frends modded relay and put it in my car...thats when i got a super wierd result...what happened was that the fogs would turn on with the first click, but when you turn off the lights, the fogs would stay on by thenselves??? the only way to turn off the fogs was to turn off the actual fog light switch, but the fogs couldnt be turned on without first turning on the headlight switch to the first click...this was with the modded relay out of an 89...any1 have any ideas on this one?

I know Franz's mod works on sealed beam cars... did it on mine. You just bridge two pins on the foglight relay with a jumper wire.

I meant that it doesn't work on his (because that's what he tried).

I don't doubt that it worked for you.
