    3RD Brake light removal

I have a '92 cabriolet with a leaking 3rd brake light gasket, probably due to the brake light cover being warped.Ive removed the four securing screws on the underside of trunklid ,but can't remove the brake light assembly. It seems to still be secured by a screw located towards the rear of the assembly.Anyone have any tips on how to remove the assembly at this point?

I didn't remove mine but its sitting under my bed so I will check but try removing the front glass (plastic) and see if the assembly will come out if there is a screw back there. I'll check though since its right here

In the top picture, the shiny rectangular object is the mounting bracket that I believe is holding the assembly in place. In the bottom picture you can see the bracket located to the left of the circular cut-out.

if I didnt remember wrong... the wires are whats holding it in. You have to loosen all the tieties and then unplug it and then try to wiggle it out. There might also be a plastic piece that holds it in, I think I broke it off when I removed it.

I removed mine because the plastic base was cracked. There are actually six screws. You probably missed the two that are "inside" the slotted trunk lid reinforcement (closest to the hinge). I didn't go for a new light yet so I put it back together and sealed it up with some 3M "dum-dum".

Thanks for your help.I found the screws and replaced the entire assembly with a used one.Once the silicone dries,I'll run some water over it to see if it works.
