    Installed my DEPOs and HIDs

    Finally!

After driving around with horribly pitted headlights and one severely cracked lens I saved some scratch and ordered some new ones.

They are the "cheapo" Depo H1 units from eBay, only $200 compared to around $700 for oem Hella smilies. These are identical and even have the city lights.

HIDs are from DDMtuning.com - only $140 for the 55w H1 kit ($95 for the 35w) - temp is 5000k - seem to be good units although there is a faint buzz to them when they are warming up. They have an ultra-tiny ballast (2.5"w x 4"d x 1/2"h) which helps on my tight install.

I also have 130w H1 highbeams from Hella.

The install was an easy plug and play deal aside from the lack of 9005 to H1 plugs which weren't in the bo as they should have been. So I still have to wire the highbeams/cibies and seal everything properly.

So far I like them - HUGE improvement over stock. However, the pattern is almost as splotchy as my gauges and the cutoffs aren't perfect like OEM.

    I give them a 7/10 but given the price I paid 9/10

Headlights when off: (I need to paint the chrome trim rings black)

Agree... Depos for headlights = no bueno. Any other light I think they are fine and have used them as well. But no for headlights... their beam patterns are always terrible with projectors and as stated above tend to leak.

Yea I know the depos aren't the best but I figured I'd give them a shot since my car rarely sees the rain. I am going to run some silicone to help seal them better.

$700 for Hellas is no joke, maybe I'll do it next year but at this point I am out of mod money.

Can someone do a writeup on how to install these? I just received some in the mail and I dont know how to hook the wires up from my headlights to the connectors.
