These are the lights I'm talking about. They aren't Ebay specials. They're German headlights that are manufactured by Hella, and were original equipment on millions of German cars.

They're far from "lousy".

H4 were the forerunners to the H1 bulbs that were found in Euro ellips. Had them in my 323i and have to agree they were pretty lousy, but an upgrade over US spec units.
