I ordered the 35w for the low beams with the 6K, what do you guys think about the 55w with 6K for the high beams? Overkill? -

For Smileys??
I have Smileys, for the low beams do I need 9006?What bulbs do I need for the low beams? Has anyone tried doing the high beams at the same time. We installed a set in a 325i last night. It was low beams only and it made the high beams look impotent. I guess the point is that you really do not need the high beams anymore?Leave a comment:

Thanks for clarifying.I will get a shot of mine this weekend and post them up. FYI, they're no plug-and-play. You will have to cut, splice and solder some wires. Also, the bulb doesn't fit in the housing with the cover plate, so the plate has to be cut a bit and then sealed up with black silicone sealant. It's a PITA, but looks cool. You may be better off with getting some 3K H3 bulbs off of eBay and calling it good (unless you really need bright as fuck foglights)Leave a comment:

i've read around and it looks like it will be quite hard to try to match the exact white of HIDs with xenon fog bulbs. so i tackled it the JDM way and got some $27 luminics 2500k H3 bulbs. they're really bright and very yellow. haha. i'm liking it more and more when i see it on my alpine.I will get a shot of mine this weekend and post them up. thanx again atomic.
has anyone tried the acrylic lenses from BMWlight.com?
not sure if acrylic would withstand HID's heat as much as the OEM glass ones.
reason why i ask is cuz my driver side lens is cracked [low beam]Leave a comment:

thanx atomic for all the help.
i just completed my order.
9006 6000k 35w
15$ for shipping and about 6$ tax.
came close to cost of the 55w.
still a good price though.
the foglights could wait.
i'm sure HID low beams would suffice.
last question.
how's the cut off of the us ellipsoids?
did you need to do some aligning or anything?
55w are way overkill
I did not have to adjust at all for the US ellipsoids. The cut off is perfect and nothing was needed. Plug Play turn on and enjoy... :p (unless your headlights are way out of adjustment for some reason).Leave a comment:
