I think this has been covered so I'd search. If it is like the others you can just bake them..well more then that.

but I swear I just saw a thread about this.

I couldn't find anything either. I am pretty sure people have done it though. Good luck

i found one thread that the guy boiled them, but he also said it took forever and he still ended up breaking the lens. there should be a sticky on how to do it.

I used a screwdriver and pried up around the edges after heading it up with a heat gun. It still broke, but it wasn't difficult. Don't count on being able to get it apart without breaking it.

i wanna keep the lens. the reason i want it apart is because the little glass reflector thing inside is loose.

BMWlight.com has lenses, and they are very high quality. There is a DIY on e30tech. You really can't do much to repair the glass, except maybe put some laminx over it.

BTW how did you do the city light treatment to the highbeams?

i tried to boil the light and cut the glue, but it didnt work. i just happened to find a uncracked light with the reflector still attached at pick n pull. they didnt even charge me for it.

The lenses were replaced when I bought the car, the nasty one isn't messed up, its just REALLY dirty on the inside with what looks like either rust or clayish dirt.
