I wouldn't mind red, but then the HVAC would not match. But seeing how the light is transmitted in the cluster of these cars, any other color would not work. Due to the orange pieces that trasmit light at the bottom of the cluster to help light up the cluster.

You should test it out and let us know!:o

I agree with the orange piece in our cluster I think the led won't transmit that well. And isn't there only 2 bulbs that light up the cluster?

So if we remove the orange then it would change the color? Can't we use red as it's a similar color to the orange? I would try a set in white to see what happens with the orange plastic in place.

          Thanks for the find.

I'm not much of a wiring guy, they had 12v LEDs, but I forgot how brightness worked, and I'd have to take apart my cluster a bit more to see exactly what I need.

The guy at Radio Shack pulled up stock size bulbs that were colored, also said he had LEDs in his cluster and they didn't work well since they're directional.

Anyone know the bulb size needed?

My first attempt failed :( I found a site that sells colored LEDs, but I gotta find a way to get the orange cover out of the cluster. The cover on the bulbs wasn't the only one...

Any updates? When I Pull my airbag steering wheel off I would like to take the cluster out update the bulbs to led and put in my new chrome rings.

I haven't done anything else on mine yet, busy with school and parties. But I found this in another thread
