It isn't a brand. Generally they are okay if they have the bronze-looking base. It has something to do witht he resistance of the material.Comment

I've always heard just the opposite, that you should only use the bulbs with the silver-colored base (Sylvania, Osram, Phillips). A buddy who's owned his '83 528e since new said this is bunk though - he's an engineer and has run the brass based bulbs, always using the Caig products to optimize the electrical connection.Comment

If you guys think the color of the fucking base is capable of pissing off the check panel system...complete BS, NFW.
Clean your check panel diode pack connectors and clean all the contacts in the tail light housings. That will fix your shit or I will refund every fucking cent you paid to get this info.
Make sure you are using a correct bulb too...no 1057s or such shit, get euro fitment bulbsComment

Anyone know what local auto places carry euro fitment bulbs or will I have to order online? I just got my clear turn signal lenses and need to find amber bulbs since I'm not running the amber lens insert. The original clear bulb is an Osram 7528 dual filament two contact bulb, but having a hard time finding ambers in a euro bulb.Comment

heh, I dunno. Switching to the other base color fixed it on the e30's that I;ve seen with that problem. I guess it was just the jiggling of the connection or something.Comment
