    UPDATE:

E30this and I worked everything out. He sent me another set of lights are in awesome shape. Car's in paint right now so I don't have a chance to try them out but they look like they'll work out just fine!

Hopefully in a few weeks, I'll have pics with another update

my low beam assembly looks nothing like that. And also, my low beam assemblies on both sides are IDENTICAL. The projectors are exactly the same, the relectors, everything's exaclty the same. Both cutoff's are positioned the same.

Does that make sense? I wish I could take more pics, but I already reassembled the lights for shipping purposes.

Here's another pic with the holes circled to better describe it. The holes circled in black are the mounting screw holes. The red circles are the holes for the mounting dowl pins. Like I said, there's only one way they can go on, so you can't flip them unless you grind the plastic dowl pins off. And the backside of the projector is labeled TOP and notched at the top so it can only go on one way.

With that being said, I believe these lights were peiced together.

And also, please understand that I'm not trying to disrespect or talk down to E30this, I'm just stating my side of the story and giving my opinion, it's nothing personal.

I sent him photos of the lights that was sent to me by the seller. ( and he knew it)
So with that being said, I told him the lights was sold as is since I never seen them in person.
So I told the PO of this thread if he wanted new to buy new.
Dont expect them to be new for 18 year old lights.
Since you and I are working this out, I won't go DEEP into detail. Yes I didn't go my homework in referance to the reflectors, I didn't take into account that they could possibly be dull, my fault. I have every PM you sent me, and you never told me they were coming from another buyer in Germany. Plus the one's you were supposedly selling to me had a broken mounting tab, but we discussed this and you said it should be ok with 2 mounts, that was from the 1 picture you posted on the board. And sorry, I can't tell the reflectors were worn out from the picture of headlights completely together.

Another note, I was not going to blow you up on here, the situation was between you and I so I was not going to state the seller in this thread out of respect.

It needs to be rotated for RHD.

    LHD position

    LHD beam

    RHD position

    RHD beam

    Easy as pie. Good luck.

    What a douche.

First off, mine are Hella's, so the picture of your bosch's aren't going to help me, but I definitely appreciate it.

The way I'm holding the projector is the EXACT way it's mounting, as if the picture is taken from the low beam light. If the headlights were mounted in the car, that's exactly how the projector would face. There's only one way the projector mounts to the reflector because the reflector housing has 2 dowl pins so you can't flip the projector over. Plus the, the backside of the reflector is marked TOP, and it's notched, so it's only one way it can go, I already tried to flip it and it didn't work.

in that picture with the projector in your hand, your holding it upside down. a good way to see what it will look like on the car, is to get a flashlight and shine it through the headlight aginst a wall inside in the dark.

It sounds like to me neither the buyer or the seller did their homework. and also sounds like you got one headlight from a country of orgin where they drive on the left.

that being said. ultimately, you want you pattern to look like this _____/ _____/ more or less. from your little sketch earlier you said it looked like this ____/ \_____, that tells you your passenger shield is wrong.

Edit: what tjts said, i didnt realise you could just rotate them around. :)

your rotating the wrong piece, plus your holding it upside down. Look at your light assembly. there are marks clearly for LHD and RHD.

Here's the metal tab I'm talking about. This is what the projector looks like as if it was sitting on the car, facing forward. It looks like from the metal tab, that it's directing light upward, away from the ground. The other projectors looks exactly like this. I would imagine that would you flip it over so the metal tab's on top, so it shines the light down on the ground. But you can't flip it because the feet on the projector that mounts it to the reflector housing has little plastic dowl pins so it only goes on one way.

    Any thoughts here?
