Whats up with my front right fog?

So when i bougth this car, back in july. the front right fog light was out.

So.. i bought some sylvania silverstars for em (blah blah not osrams). So today i noticed that the front right fog light is out again! it had to have been in the last day or two, cause i know they were on a couple of days ago. It rained today.

I haven't tried switching the bulbs back and forth or anything yet, but i was just wondering if this is a common problem? could i have a wiring issue?

Both of my fog lights have cracks in them.. by the way.

I had your same problem before, and it turned out to be a bad ground. Might want to check up on that.
But I'd just try switching the bulbs first, too. Then try switching the actual fogs to the opposite connectors.
    Good luck.

If both bulbs are ok, then remove each foglight. Then switch sides and plug them back in. That should hopefully let you know if there's a wiring problem or not.

Late model fog lights are not side-swapable.

Sorry for the confusion. I've only messed with the fogs that go in early model es/is valences.
Once again, sorry for the misdirection.

Same thing happened to me. The driver's side fog is just out. I bought these bulbs about 2 months ago, so I'm doubting very much that it's the blub. When I get home today, I'm going to try flipping sides (just the blubs of course). I can't handle driving this thing at night with no fogs, so someone, please help us out!

it could be that the gasket leaks. that would toast bulbs.

In fact, if you said it started raining and then it happened, that's where my money's at.

its been raining hardcore on and off for the past few weeks. I drive with my fogs and headlights on everytime the car is on.. so i've been driving in some hardcore rain for a few weeks now, and they haven't gone out..

since my fogs are cracked, i might just buy new ones from bavauto or something and get the protector things for them. That would no doubt fix my gasket problem, yes?

The hurricane came up through here, and I had been driving around in the rain. I haven't tested the blubs yet, but how can I prevent the gasket from going?

if you touched the lenses of the bulb it is very probable that the buld did actually burn out.

The glass around the fillament needs to stay clean (free of oils/dirt) if the glass gets dirty the heat the filament produces will reflect back at itself and keep getting hotter and hotter until it eventually burns out.

wouldn't it do it a bit quicker then two months? I mean.. i run these things everytime i turn the car on.. that includes the 2 hour commute twice a day i was making for a few weeks.

while on the topic of fogs, you think 100w bulbs will melt my fogs?
