    hids intermittent on one side

I'm interested if anyone else with hids is having problems with intermittent starting on one side? Just about every time I start them when they are cold both sides fire, but one immediately shuts off and I get a low beam failure. Turning the headlights off and back on gets both sides to light 100% of the time. They also seem to light 100% of the time when they are warm. I know this is a car issue bc it has happened with both my bavtoys slim 35w kit and now my ddm slim 55w kit.

I have the same problem and its because i dont have ignitors. I have to flick them on and off a few times to get both to come on when they are cold.

I have DDM kits on my Denali and the fogs will ignite with no problem and then after 3-5 minutes one will just shut off. I can turn them off and back on and get them to refire but the same will happen over and over. I have not looked into it yet but I am thinking I have a ballast problem on the one that is acting up...

I have had two kits. With both I have switched the ballasts and then the bulbs from side to side and that didn't change a thing. And the fact that it is not isolated to one side pretty much rules that out.

All hid ballasts have ignitors. Some are internal some are external.

Sounds like a ballast issue. Try switching your ballasts from side to side to see if the problem follows.
