E36 dome light retrofit

Hi guys,

I have just bought an E36 dome light to be fitted in my E30 Sedan. I know this isnt a straight installation but it's ok, I like a little tinkering about. The thing is, I have very little experience with wiring. I'm hoping that you guys can help me. Can anyone tell me what these wires are for? I have put numbers on the picture for easy referencing

Yessir.

The previous owner installed a dome light from another car and I didnt like the shape of it. So all i did was to modify the current hole

Update: I manage to connect the 2 wires (hot 12v and ground) and leave the rest alone since I couldnt be bothered running wires under the dash. The downside is the car has to be in ACC mode to switch on. I can live with that
