Folks,
I have the premium sound package with the 'IR' radio in my 325. The volume knob has always been... a little touchy, in that you had to move it back and forth to actually get any volume change. Lately, it worsened in that I only got sound out of the LF speakers, then after the radio heated up a bit I'd get 4 channels, then after another 20-30 minutes I'd start to get VIOLENT crackling from all channels.
So.. I replaced the head unit with an identical one and all is well with the world. However, I'd like to repair my original unit: how do I go about that? I assume the first order of business is opening it and cleaning whatever potentiometre it's using for the volume knob?
