    E36 CD player

Has anyone ever wired one of these into an e30? Any tips or things I'll nee to make this work ie: harness adaption and such

    Thanks

Assuming that you have the wiring harness, I'm sure you could make it work electronically. However, mounting it might be an issue. But you could probably drop $90 on a brand new deck that will be twice as good and actually have some pre-amp outputs.

As Ken said, it could be made to work but whether all of the mucking around is worth it is another story. If you don't already have the wiring harness and can't find one for a reasonable price, I'd go with Ken's idea and buy an average to good deck that you'll find will probably do a lot more than the stock E36 variant.

Alternatively, if you must have the OEM look, then by all means go for it but if you are just after the CD function, you may find that an aftermarket deck may be the best route to take.

      Hope this helps,

      Pete

          Then get a Nakamichi deck.

If you can't afford that go Alpine. Some of the models blend in REALLY well with the car.. (ask me how i know ;))

cut a harness plug out of an e36 at a junkyard and buy a radio antenna adapter, or you could just change the plug on the wire..
I considered this as an option before I changed back to stock.

Why would you need a radio antenna adapter? Aren't the plugs for all BMWs the same?

nways, Jordan, I don't think there will be any problems wiring it up. I would imagine that you can just get the plug out of a E36 and match up the wiring to the existing headunit wiring harness. But i could be wrong.
