driver side door sensor issue.

okay so I have this wierd issue.

when opening the driver side door the interior dome light doesnt recognize that the door is open so it never turns on. Passenger side works just fine, so when I open the passenger side door the interior dome turns on. I have an alarm/ central locking. So if I open the driver side door and the module doesnt recognize the door is open it locks it up after 10 seconds.

Could it be the central locking module? if it is, why would the passenger side work and not hte driver side? It was intermitently dying out until it completely died. So this wasnt something that happened overnight. I would say this is somethign that happened over 2 years. Slowly dying, and now the drive side door sensing is basically completely dead. What could bet he cause of this?

Is the sensor wires going to anything else other than teh central locking? would replacing a working central locking solve the issue?

same problem here , but with no alarm or central locking install . I want to install an alarm , is there anyway to install it to work properly if the dome light doesn't work when opening the driver's door ?

yea my alarm works fine, but before it blew out, it haphazardly click on the alarm every couple times. This happen more often when it rained. I have no idea what is the issue, I'm thinking corrosion at hte connectors, or simply a dying module.

i had this issue aswell... i replaced the bulb(with a bmw bulb), light housing and the door switch and all was well again.

I think my issue was replacing the door light bulb with a cheap after market bulb that screwed up the circuit. or the door switch went bad.
