    It's ticking, but it's off

So wen i put the key in, and turn it even to just position 1 this really loud repeating ticking noise comes from the drivers side of the engine bay. It keeps going even in postition 2 and when i turn the car on. just started out of no where this morning. Any idea's?

Relay is probably making the ticking or the Idle control valve

It should be pretty easy to find, just pop the hood and listen around while it's happening. Relays make a pretty distinct "click", and they are all on the drivers side, but I know on my car, my cruise control motor (weird looking black thing with a cable coming out of it) would make a tick-tick-tick sound when I first turned the car on. My solution was just to unplug the connector in the cruse control harness under the dash.

No problem, glad to help. That stupid click drove me crazy for months. I never used my cruise control, so I just ended up removing the whole thing.
