    Image Dynamics

Hi i've got the chance to buy some second hand ID idq 6 speaker's fitted in to some Audioscape door pod's,ID cd1horn's,Pheonix Gold ax-406a cross over's with lpr44(not to sure what this is,a remote for the cross over's or some thing ?) and the horn's are in a custom mount type thing's so they mount above the pedal's and under the glove box.

I've search here and on the web but i can't find much info.

They are supposed to be a very good(and expensive) speaker set up,what do you think of them ?

Has any one got a good web site for the ID speaker's ?

The chap's digi cam is bust so here's one he took with his phone,he's trying to sort out some more picture's for me.

    Thank's Andy

I've actually never heard them, but I've read a lot of reviews of them and they're always highly praised. Apparently they provide some of the best highs. They're not very popular though because they're really expensive and difficult to mount.

What do the door pods look like?

I was worried about where the horn's were mounted as on most traditional tweeter's it's best for imaging to get them mounted fairly high.

I put this question to the seller and he said it was to do with them being able to produce lower frequency's than normal tweeter's.

This kind of tie's in as on that web site it say's they are designed to be mounted above the pedal's/under the glove box.

Have you heard of any reliability issue's or are they easily damaged by being over powered ?

I'm assuming the door pod's look the same as this site show's until i get some more picture's.

AudioScape.co.uk is available for purchase. Get in touch to discuss the possibilities!

Yes, they'll produce frequencies MUCH lower than traditional dome tweeters. In fact, you're supposed to put a high-pass crossover on them at 800Hz.

They're mounted exactly where they should be in that picture in the first post. I've never heard any reliablitiy problems with them.

Those door pods are way expensive.

How much are you paying for all of this, if you dont mind me asking?

from what ive read on caraudio.com they are amazing. very hard to mount right and aim though, but once u get them right they sound awesome (sort of a cup of tea thing though, either hate it or love it). and if i remember right they dont need a whole lot of power cus they can get loud fast with extra power.

again this is just what i recall from reading from the forums, i have no first hand experience

Pretty good price. What are you going to use to power the speakers?

I've got a Caliber CA460(4x60w rms i think) that i was going to use to power the ID's and the sub i've got.

But i'm now thinking i should use all 4 chanel's to power the ID's and get anouther amp for the sub or just get a more power full amp as i don't want two amp's realy, may be get a 5 chanel amp.

So the Caliber (must be a UK company) is just a headunit? You're going to need an external amp for the horns and mids, as well as your sub.

No it's an amp, cost me £419 or $784 about 5 years ago,it won a group test in an ICE mag over here, but we do get ripped off for electrical good's here.

<Edit>It's not that power full but it is very good quality sound wise.

I've heard an ID horn setup before, probably poorly installed because i didnt' like it at all, lacked detail, and low stage height unless your in the back seat, but great imaging. I personally dont like them, but hey get them and try it out and write a review here, let us know how they sound. I know the ID horns are highly praises which leads to me thinking the guy installed it wrong, but i'll stick with tweeters for now. But damn do i love their ID MAX.

At the IASCA/MECA finals in Louisville, KY this year I heard an Fbody camaro with ID horns under the dash and a pair of IDMAX's. Dunno what the midbasses and midranges were but I liked it. I think that guy must have installed them wrong. They sounded REALLY good. ;) I say go for it. Thats one helluva deal.
