There's a gentleman in Spain who (used to?) sell VDO gears, but he couldn't do MM ones. I have had indifferent success contacting him however: address is mpower2002@jazzfree.com .

What is the best place to buy the odometer gears? $85 a set seems a little steep..anywhere else cheaper?

Just to clarify - never reflow joints with out flux. You'll be doing much more harm than good. If you need a board re-flowed PM me. If you want to try it yourself, pick up some kester "no-clean" flux. Both mouser and Digi-key carry it. It's like $10 and will last a few years.
    Exactly what I use :)

We are asking what the actual differences are and which cars are SUPPOSED to come with which clusters and if they are interchangeable.

Question, can anyone verify the years that VDO clusters were used as opposed to MotoMeter clusters? Just wondering.

Awesome. My tach has JUST started to get a little jump in it every now and then, might have to tear it out and reflow some (solder) joints and see if it makes a difference.
