I hope some one here can give me a few ideas since i am a little lost with this problems.
Car is an 85 318i when i got it it came with an aftermarket HU and looks to have the non-premium stereo (no tweeters in the doors, and small speakers in the rear deck). that HU was old and i have just recently replaced it with a new JVC unit.
The problem is that as soon as i turn the volume to anything over 12 ( is just loud enough to hear stereo over engine/road noise as i drive) the speakers crackle really bad. I never had this issue with the old HU. I thought maybe the premium rear speaker set i got from the wrecker was shot but after playing with the fader and balance its obvious every speaker in the car does the crackling
the HU is wired to the factory fader. I have also installed the premium speakers in the rear deck.
does this sound like a problem with the speakers or wiring, or...?? I am wondering if the old speakers were so far gone but didnt notice it until the new HU was installed and the increased power made it obvious? or is it to do with the factory fader thing in the dash?

also what is the correct way to wire the speaker wires from HU to the factory fader switch? I also believe that may be an issue as i might have done that wrong..
