    Another head unit wiring question

    I've searched.

Nothing I have read matches what I see in my car.

Here are the wires I have:
From one wiring bundle under the dash:
    Brown
    2nd Brown(Thinner wire)
    Green & Red
    Yellow & Red
Yellow & Brown (Note: only ONE yellow & brown wire)
    Blue & Red
Blue & Brown (Note: only ONE Blue & brown wire)
    Grey & Red
2nd Grey & Red (Yes two, and its thinner)
    Grey & Purple
    Yellow & Black
    Blue & Black

From the left side of the dash:
    White
Large gray (I know this is FM)

Basically, I don't know what connects to what on my harness.

I have no idea if its is premium or anything, and all I want to do is make the my deck work with what's here, I don't care about the AMP or the size of the wires or any of that shit.

    Thanks

sounds like you have a clusterfuck going on there.

Here is an easy way to deal with it:

unwrap your harness until you find the spot where the blue/red and yellow/red, blue/black and yellow/black get twisted into pairs with brown wires...those 4 pair are your speakers (and yes, black stripes are positive for the rears) and separate the connection where the brown wires interconnect so you have 8 wires, as god intended.

    White is power antenna
    Grey/red is dash lights
    Brown is ground

test your two power wires (purple/grey and green/red, IIRC) with your testlight

Damnit, I was hoping the would be easy. I'll try to get to it through the 1U hole before I take anything more off tonight. Thanks

Well I unwrapped as much of the wiring bundle as I could and the wires are all still the wrong colors (i.e. no splices) I'll take a picture in a sec.

I'm going to leave the RCA and the tweeters off, I just need some sort of sound in there.

Grab your fader out of the dash and take that harness apart...that is where you will find those splices, unless your car was a premium sound car, then you might as well use the amp if you don't want to rewire.

If by the fader you mean the wheel in the upper left in the second picture, nothing is connected to it, its just taking up space. I'll text the PO and see if he knows anything about it, he said that he paid someone to wire up a deck which obviously hasn't been done.

The meet next weekend? No, I'll have my car in storage by then. I think I'll let this go until I start driving again.
