    sub

I was wondering if it was possible to get good sound from sub in trunk without having it mounted in the skinhole.

If you are OK with trunk rattles and muddy bass, sure.

You can also scoop some of the foam out of your regular seat. Or, not have a back seat.

Yeah, depending on what back seat you have, there is hardly any difference with the seat in or out.

But you asked about the ski pass...how do you think the bass is gonna get into the car anyway? Solid sheet metal isn't the best sounding stuff out there, y'know.

I've seen many people mount a sub in the ski pass. Is that the best way to get good sound from the sub?

Good speaker sound has a lot to do with the enclosure. Where its mounted has to do with how much of the sound wave you feel or dont. My 6" PC sub sounds ridiculously loud 10 feet away on the staircase going upstairs but hardly anything sitting next to the pc. But it quality doesnt sound any different. I dont see why position in the trunk effects the sound wave quality? School me.
