    What about cutting a 10" hole in both bulkheads and use a piece of pipe in the hole, welded in for rigidity. Then you could go with a box similar to what Luke makes for coupes/sedans. I would do the same for port tubes as well, just smaller obviously. Would be a bit of work, but less than making some sort of crazy fiberglass box. Cheap too.

      i don't think a 10" hole in the middle of both of those is going to kill the structure.. not enough to make a tube worth welding.

      on the point of that being worth the trouble, how tight does a sub box have to be? there's only a few inches between those two bulkheads and it seems pretty easy to seal up.
