    Original Radar Detector?

I bought a 91 325i and there was a box in the trunk that had a few parts in it, I came across the small panel with 6 LEDS and two slider switches.

The units says SS 1000, and the bigger box reads "SONARADAR microprocessor" with arrows telling which the unit needs to face.

After completing a thorough search, I cannot find any information on this unit but would like to make it operational once again, if anyone can give me some input on the unit I would greatly appreciate it.

I have the same thing in my 88 cab. The display is on the knee bolster and the unit is behind the kidneys.
    What is this? Dealer install?

I love the thing, it has amber lighting. Works like 45% of the time.

I have yet to monkey with them. They are old K band radar and it's not used as much these days.

I think that is an old K40. IIRC they offered to pay any ticket you got while having one. Back in the day, you had one of these or an Escort/Passport. And I mean a Valentine Escort/Passport, not the ones you see today.
