    6.5s in the rear deck?

I have some infinity 6.5's laying around. these are expensive ass speakers, so I'd like to toss them in. they are only 6.5" speakers, but they are very nice, and hence have some very big magnets. can i fit these in my rear deck lid without interfering with anything, like the trunk hinges etc?

You can either build a false top to mount them in, or you will have to cut the holes in the shelf out bigger to allow them to fit.

i don't want to put any extra weight in the car, its bad enough that i'm putting in big stupid speakers lol.

but if i cut the deck, they will fit without rubbing anything?

Can you fit them into the kick panels up front?

Also, whatever happened to the door panels that were supposedly being made?

yes, but you have to cut through the kick panel and use the aftermarket grill that comes with the speaker. I plan on doing this also, so i want to put these 6.5s in the rear

putting the 6.5 in the fronts with the grilles will get in the way of the glove box opening and the hood lever. As for cutting the holes bigger in the rear deck, u only have to cut the metal. I just dropped 6.5 boston rallys in to try to see if they fit, and they do with out any cutting, but of course the magnet isn't as big as the infinities. But all of this doesn't matter b/c I dont use rear speakers anymore, i leave it empty to let the bass into my cabin from the sub in the trunk.

yeah I'm gonna put a sub in for the winter, but I'm not gonna want it in there come summer (for obvious weight reasons).

Jordan is still working on them, he was telling me that he finished or is close to finishing the molds for them.

The only way to find out for sure is to try em' out. Back in my younger, dumber days, (a year ago) I put Audiobahn 6x9s in the rear deck of my 325e. The magnets were freakin massive and I have to do some serious cutting of the sheet metal under the rear deck to get them to fit.

I'm hoping that my MB Quart 6.5"s fit in the rear deck. I had no luck getting them into the front kick panels.

The MBs didn't fit. The basket was too wide; I had to build a little shim for them. Check out my thread in this section about my install. It has tons of pictures so you can see what I'm talking about.
