If you are planning on adding new speakers, subs, external amps in the future, defenetely go with the Nak.

But if you aren't an audio nut, and all you really want is a nice matched interior and the ability to play CDs, then go with the E36 decks, because they really do look like they belong in the E30 dash.

That's tough. There are a lot of mods I would make to my car before excessive audio equipment, but I'm not closed minded to it. I will likely go with the CD 400 because it's easier to find and cheaper. Plus, any upgrades to my audio would be, like you said, better with the Nak.

well, most BMW decks get hooked up to an external amp somewhere else in the car. you could hassle with all of that, or get a nak cd400.

            good call.

You are paying less for a better item. Only thing you gotta sacrifice is in the looks department, but the Nak still looks awesome in the E30s.

if you read what i said next, you would have read that I said "but the Nak still looks awesome in the E30s."

As to if you think that the Nak looks better in the E30's dash than the E36 CD player, well I suppose that's a matter of opinion - some people think that blue lights on the JVC decks look nice in the E30s too.
The CD400 looks nice, but compared to the E36 deck (imo) the Nak deck looks cheap looking.

But what do i know, i have a Clarion deck that looks the ugliest, but I couldnt pass up the Mp3 feature.
