Replaced the brake switch (brake lights were on at all times) and switched out old brass base brake light bulbs w/new silver base bulbs, yet brake light warning on check panel stays lit. Help please?

I have done a search sir, thank you, and I came up with nothing more than the brake switch, changing bulbs, or corroded sockets/bulbs and as I stated I've done these already. Glad you responded though, as I did however see your post regarding a "secret fix" you hold for resolving this--care to let the rest of us know?

Not that I am willing to search either...even in my own damn posts...but here is the cliffs notes:
1. It is not the brake light switch. Off/on is all it does, and if it works, it is good. Quick check (shuts off the LED on initial brake) means it is good. If it is bad, the brake lights will not come on.
2. It isn't the bulb bases, that is pure bullshit. 1985 tech simply was not forcing us to be that precise.
3. Clean the check panel diode/relay box and its harness. That is the black box just in front of the antenna, the one with 2 plugs. ANY corrosion is bad news here.
4. Clean the connections to the tail light backing panel, and the bulbs/sockets. Make sure the ground wire is not corroded.
5. Pull the back seat and clean the ground point on the left.
I HIGHLY recommend CRC brand electrical contact cleaner, I think it is #23.
GL!
Luke
