    E30 Amp ground cable?

Where is the best place on the E30 to wire the ground cable to?

I seem to be loosing power from my sound system and for some reason I think its not grounded correctly.

    Help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

The same spot that the battery grounds is the best spot.

Either that or sand the paint off the car near the amp and ground it there. Depends on where you have it mounted though. You might also have ground loop problems like this, but I've seen many do it this way.

if your amp and battery are in the trunk, run a groung wire to the neg term on the battery

That is a good idea accually, since I dont even use the antenna! to many ads on the radio lol I prefer to listen to CD's or the engine :) haha

I will try that and see how it goes. if not ill try to attempt to ground it to the negative on the battery, the only problem is I will need a long ass ground cable as the battery is in the front of the car and the amp is in the boot (trunk for u americans) lol

            Thanks guys!!

while your battery is under the bonnet, the battery ground point in the boot may still be there

If you have the front mount battery, you will not have the noise issues us rear battery guys have.

Scrape the paint clean on a spot on the floor, shoot a short screw through a ring terminal. No special anything needed here, except to make sure that you get all the paint off, as paint does not conduct electricity.

I only ever got a slight noise when the battery was low.

                            Do NOT do this!

I fire guys for that bullshit, make your own ground point or use a proper factory ground point.

I used the one that's under the rear seat. I think the electric window motor grounds there...
