Central Locking Nuisance Just Became Big Problem.

Alright so yesterday my central locking went out. Nothing happened when I locked the trunk, nothing happened when I locked the driver door. Had to lock everything separate, *ugh*, then all of a sudden everything came back for a day, and now it stopped working again. And now the key will not unlock the driver door. I have to get out, walk around the car reach through passenger side to lock the door, then lock pass side with key.

Now while this was a hassle I was planning troubleshooting it at my leisure, but the locking system stopped working with the gas cap locked and I'm riding on "R".

So if I can just get my gas lid open I'll be ok, any way of popping it open?

I'm thinking this might be because of my alarm I installed last year. It would lock the doors whenever I turned the ignition and now it won't work at all.

First UPDATE: Driver side will UNLOCK with key but will not lock with key.
I have just got to get gas in it tonight so I can go to work tomorrow morning!

I haven't even started to look at it I thought I'd post here and come back to see if anyone has any suggestions.

How do I go about getting the gas cap open? I don't want to pry it open I'd like to do it electrically. Any Ideas?

As per the Bentley Manual: "The control unit may be damaged if the central locking system is operated in quick succession more than eight times."

When I would turn the ignition over the stupid alarm would try to lock my alarms then try to lock again, sometimes even three times.

I think I may have fried my control unit, any way to test this?

Thanks M42 Sport, I tried to search, but didn't find this. In that picture did you already solder because I'm seeing nothing wrong with that picture... Hmm time to take my unit out.

Also whats up with my key not manually locking the driver door? I turn it over and when I try the door it sticks a bit but pops open with a little force, it is as if it is trying to lock but is only barely locking, damn guess I'll be taking the door panel off as well.

I don't have my soldering with me at the moment, I'll go looking for my gas take pin motor wires...

Yeah wow thanks, I'm actually embarassed at how easy that was, just take the carpet out and slide the pin back. Wow, that was too easy.

Ok so crisis solved, I can put gas in my car now. Now for the other problems.

I'm not hearing a clicking as you did M42. Haven't taken the control module out yet but I will, at least I can get gas in the tank.

No on the pic I posted the solder had broken. It was kinda a bitch to get to since it was underneath the drivers side front speaker. I got lucky and had a easy fix on mine. Also check the harness running to the door. I read these get rusty sometimes.

              the problem

              Fixed.

Took out my central lock control and it is not the problem that was in this post http://r3vlimited.com/board/showthre...ntral+lock+fix Everything seems to look fine inside of there.

Opened up the relay that is right next to the lock control unit and everything looks fine in there as well, but it kinda of smells burnt up... Hmmm...

Since it stopped working then starting working again I'm thinking it might just be a wiring problem. Those are always fun...
