    Divx HDD media player

Not for the car but for home. I'd like to purchase a Divx/MP3 player w/hard disc. Any recommendation?

Must have HDMI output as well as composite and USB port. What type of HD is bets? 2.5" or 3.5"? Also, storage capacity shall be at least 500Gb.

    TIA

Ever think about just running a HTPC (home theater PC)?

I have several laptops, but they don't output a 1080p signal.

Sony also has a small module that I would consider too, without hard disc, with a USB port on which to connect a hard drive. My movies are already dumped onto a 500Gb HD.

Ah I see. I'm just running a 4yo HTPC hooked up to a Yamaha receiver that upscales to 1080p. My internet connection is too slow to be grabbing HD movies... I also have my movies spread between a 2T server, 3- 500G drives and 3 separate computers throughout the house... lol

I have the WD Media Player and it's been fine for the last year or so.... they keep releasing new bios updates for it to support more formats and features... connected to a 1080p lcd via hdmi. has two usb ports, one in the back connected to a hdd and one on a side is used with a thumbdrive/usb stick.. It does not have internal hdd.
